Next Anthology – Wyrds of the Abyss

I’ve officially started on my next anthology – Wyrds of the Abyss!

I plan for this one (which will technically be Volume 2) to be twice as large as my first book, Wyrds of Wonder (WoW). In retrospect, I probably should have held onto WoW for a little longer and added a few more stories to it, but I was too excited to publish my first book and couldn’t wait any longer! I’ve learned a lot publishing, marketing, and getting my name – and my book – out there. And there is still a lot left for me to learn!

So far, I have added three stories to Wyrds of the Abyss (WoA). A couple of them have been posted to my author’s page on ReedsyPrompts, but those are abridged versions, as I am limited to a 3,000 word-count.

Here is a quick synopsis of the three stories:

Etched in Time

In a world where humanity has been forced to live underground, away from the scorched ruins of the surface, a lone scavenger traverses the burnt remains of an ancient civilization that once lived under an open sky. During his search, he discovers a strange mirror that acts as a communication portal to another world or time. Through the portal, he encounters a strange man from a technologically advanced society who is just as surprised and suspicious as the scavenger. Together, they begin to bridge the vast gap between their worlds, revealing a deeper mystery about the past and their potential futures.

Madman’s Knowledge

In a world still reeling from an ancient cataclysm, an intrepid scholar sets out on a perilous journey to find an ancient library lost to the world for centuries. To hold the secrets of the past, they must overcome countless trials and tribulations to reach the library’s ruins and uncover the fabled knowledge repository. As the scholar delves deeper, they must decide whether their sacrifices are worth seeking such forbidden wisdom.

Obsession’s Muse

When a journal containing cryptic and disturbing verses of obsession and murder is found in the home of a missing person, it is up to one detective, who is known for his terrible luck in solving cases, to decode the passages and find the next victim before the murderer does. His luck might finally turn around, but at what cost?

Here is a preview of the book cover! It is still a work in progress, but I like where it is headed!
